What is DISC?
Please note that the DISC service has been discontinued. All those who need help with disability issues (including benefits advice) should contact the specialist support teams at:
- Cotswold District Council (CDC) in Cirencester [Tel: 01285 623 000]
- Gloucestershire County Council (GCC) at Shire Hall [Tel: 01452 425000]
- Citizens Advice Bureau (CAB) in Cirencester [Tel: 01285 652908]
All of the above are able and willing to provide information, advice and guidance in aspects of disability and benefits advice. There are also a wide range of voluntary and community sector organisations who will be able to offer assistance to you.
The DISC service (when it was operational) offered information and support to disabled and elderly people, their carers and members of their families. Disability affects everyone and sometimes just a chat can help. DISC offered a free and confidential service that gave information about disabilities, finances and benefits and helped people to fill in forms. DISC also arranged wheelchair and scooter hire and Radar keys. |
